The Annual Ed Smith Appeal
April 1st through June30th

Achievers, then and now, seek no exempti

Professor Edward C. Smith was a third generation Washingtonian, and left behind a considerable legacy of accomplishments in the nation's capital. In addition to being present at the creation of the Heights School in Potomac, MD. Ed Smith was a joint founder of the Youth Leadership Foundation.

We lost Ed Smith on March 11th of this year.

Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser issued a proclamation for April 17, the day of his internment, as a “day of remembrance” for Smith in the city where he was born and lived his entire life. “Professor Smith's leadership and commitment were surpassed only by his love for our city and his passion to give back to the community,” said Bowser in the proclamation.
