Introducing "Ray of Light" Ashley Murdock

CEO of Successful In Pink

1. Which of our three virtues do you identify with most and why?

For me it would be Joy. My passion is to help women achieve health, wealth and happiness. I hope to bring joy and happiness to every experience that I am apart of whether that be health and wealth products, coaching services, meditations sessions, vision board parties or speaking engagements.

2. Did you have a role model/ mentor that inspired you to do what you are doing?

I have been fortunate enough to have several mentors in my life that have helped me grow into the woman that I am today and that have guided me towards the path of health and wellness. There are common health risks in the African American community such as high blood pressure and diabetes, that are prevalent within my family history. I have an amazing Mother and 5 Aunts who have always inspired me to break generational habits and to live a healthy lifestyle. There is one event in particular that inspired me to become a health coach. On August 25th, 2017 I attended a Wellness Day Retreat at the Congress Heights Art and Culture Center. That event changed my life. After the event I went up to the organizer Jessica and broke down into tears. I told her that the event had a major impact on my life and that she was doing exactly what I wanted to do. From there, I inquired about her journey and I attended the same program she did to become a health coach. Funny enough I am now a homeowner in Congress Heights and I look forward to having a wellness event at the Congress Heights Art and Culture Center in the future.

3. What is the best advice you’ve received to date?

The best advice I have received is from Napoleon Hill. “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve”. My mind is a powerful tool that I have learned to nurture and control. A lot of my growth, successes and opportunities have come from making mindset shifts and being intentional in my purpose.

4. How do you see/ understand your responsibility to your community?

I am using my experience and my journey to change they way women define and achieve health and wellness. My responsibility to my community is to be a health and wellness advocate, guide, accountability partner and educator. To empower women shift their mindset from a diet mentality to a healthy lifestyle mentality, practice self-love and self-care, and develop healthy habits to achieve a healthy lifestyle. To guide women through a journey that focuses on achieving wellness in all areas of life. To inspire women to break generational habits in order to implement a healthy lifestyle for generations to come.

5. Ultimately, what does success look like to you?

I want to start of my saying that success is ever changing and is different for everyone depending on their goals, desires and aspirations. To me, success is being “in the pink” which means to be in good health. In my opinion being in good health means achieving wellness holistically across all aspects of life (mental, physical, financial, spiritual, etc.). I continue to do something everyday to be “in the pink” and I hope I inspire other women to do the same.

6. How can people learn more about you and the work that you're doing? Do you have a website and/or SM handles you'd like to share? *
